team responsible for managing assets of the Long Island
transmission and distribution systems from 13kV through 345kV and
overall coordination and compliance of elements on the bulk
electric system with applicable reliability standards. This
position offers problem solving and challenging leadership
opportunities on various distribution system planning initiatives
and represents distribution engineering in various key internal and
external stakeholder committees. This position represents PSEG
LI/LIPA on technical stakeholder committees and regulatory matters
and takes strategic technical decisions on various initiatives.
This distribution engineering position pioneers the future by
leading the reliable integration of cutting edge technologies into
the system. -Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing and
supporting the highest degree of system reliability by assessing
the performance of outside plant assets of the overhead
distribution system, and implementing material and technology
improvementsDevelop asset life cycle plans and create/update
required Asset Management Plans (AMP's) for overhead distribution
equipment assets. -Assess asset class performance and its impact on
the system, while evaluating economic and operational
risksResponsible for leading overhead distribution initiatives,
preventative maintenance inspection programs of critical overhead
distribution assets, and related capital programs. -Perform
analysis of distribution material/equipment asset class performance
and asset failure trends/history to insure the most cost effective
capital spend and efficient allocation of resourcesEvaluate
emergent overhead distribution equipment failures, performing root
cause analyses of subject failures, issuing findings/conclusions
reports, and developing repair/replace recommendations for all such
failuresProvide engineering assistance to construction and
operations groups in the application of present standards and the
introduction of innovating technologies. -Conduct site visits and
provide field support to construction and operating crews. -Perform
field audits of distribution asset inspection and capital
programsResponsible for creating/reviewing/updating construction
standards, purchase and test specifications, and procedures for
overhead distribution cables, and related materials and equipment
for the overhead electric distribution system, including the
setting of criteria for installation, maintenance, and
operationParticipate in the research and development of new design
concepts, materials, and equipment on the electric distribution
system. -Oversee quality control issues of materials received,
including satisfactory outcome of discussions with manufacturers
and vendors to resolve deficiencies to the agreement of the
CompanyJob Specific QualificationsRequired -(Note: Current PSEGLI
employees must meet PSEGLI Grade 28 Engineer matrix requirements in
addition to required years of professional experience listed
below.)Bachelors degree in EngineeringProfessional Engineer License
and/or one of the following advance degrees: -Masters Degree in
Engineering from ATBE Accredited University, Masters of Business
Administration or Energy Management or Advanced Degree (Economics,
Computer Science, 2nd Engineering) -PE/MEng/MBAMinimum of 6 years
of engineering and/or operations experience with electric
distribution and/or transmission systems. -Experience leading a
technical team with major accountabilities.Demonstrated leadership
on high visibility projects or functions. Effective problem-solving
and decision-making; strong planning and organizing skills; must be
adaptable and be results-oriented. Proven Subject matter expert in
formal industry recognized role (e.g. Designated NERC Audit SME,
Participation in Litigation as an Expert Witness, - Chairman or
Formal Leadership Role in Industry Stakeholder Group , and/or
Formal Leadership in IEEE/Standards Working Groups - minimum 1 year
