Team!Overview:Working under senior engineering supervision, deploys
and supports high-technology manufacturing processes with primary
focus on SMT assembly and thick-film hybrid microcircuits. Applies
and refines suitable methods, materials, and equipment intended to
support and improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve product
reliability, and expand capabilities. Follows through with design
and deployment of accepted proposals. Surveys and keeps current
with the state of applicable technology for processes, materials,
equipment, vendor capabilities, and other items of relevance.
Participates in failure analyses for process and product as needed,
and presents findings to internal and external
customers.Responsibilities:
- Works as a member of a team to apply and improve current and
new processes in support of new and existing microelectronic and
SMT products; analyzes results; documents and evaluates
processes.
- Keeps current with the state of relevant technology for new or
improved processes incorporating state-of-the-art methods, tools
and materials, including relevant software tools.
- Interface with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and
material suppliers to determine correct approach to design, modify
or enhance manufacturability of products; accountable for yields of
highly complex processes.
- Develop processes with design guidelines that promote process
capability including creating, checking and releasing formal
documentation.
- Contributes to forensic and failure analyses for process and
product as needed, and presents findings to internal and external
customers. Perform detailed Design of Experiments (DOE) and analyze
results using statistical methodology.
- Contribute to Basis of Estimates for bid and proposal efforts,
and for internal Continuous Improvement initiatives.Participate in
safety training and comply with safety policies and
practices.Qualifications:
- Minimum:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering,
Materials Science, Manufacturing Technology or related discipline
OR some college education and 2 years of experience in
micro-electronic manufacturing.
- 1+ years of micro-electronic manufacturing environment
experience, including electronic packaging of microwave, hybrids,
ceramics and Duroid materials; a deep understanding of materials
used in micro-electronic circuits and assemblies such as epoxies,
eutectic attachment, wire bonding of fine wire, resistance welding
equipment and manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Communication skills: ability to communicate effectively to
audiences including customers, coworkers, management, and vendors
having varying levels of understanding of the topics.
- Computer skills: work in a networked environment using a
Windows and/or Windows like interface. Working knowledge of
Microsoft Office programs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and
assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the
vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis
and to cope with often rapidly changing information.
- Remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough
circumstances; own assignments and be fully accountable. PREFERRED:
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering and manufacturing
environment specializing in high-reliability microelectronic
products for space flight.
- Experience with Surface-Mount Technology designs and
processesSECURITY: Must meet the definition of a US person for ITAR
requirements.Salary Range: $96,000 - 106,000 annually. Applicable
pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including,
but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the
position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
