Job Description:

OverviewManages program planning initiatives and projects identified by Government Program Management leadership. Provides project management, analysis, and communicates efforts regarding selected projects. Supports relationship management and development with funders. Works under general direction.Responsibilities

  • Develops a strong understanding of VNSNY's strategic business objectives and unit operations to ensure effective development of project plans and goals. - Provides project management oversight and monitoring, data collection, and analytical support for the development new program and projects
  • Maintains VNSNY's accounts on applicable grant related systems. Monitors communication on these various systems and ensures timely communication and alerts between VNSNY staff and funders.
  • Collaborates with Legal, Government Affairs, Finance, Operations and other relevant departments to maintain and strengthen funder relationships.
  • Identies and improves process efficiency and effectiveness through process improvement initiatives, improved technology usage and better communications.
  • Collaborates with other funding areas within VNSNY i.e. foundational funding, to increase total VNSNY funding.
  • Engages appropriate VNSNY experts, SBUs, and support departments to further project goals and objectives.
  • Researches and develops proposals for new programs consistent with VNSNY strategic objectives and target populations. Identifies present and future needs/trends and potential business opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the government grants team and various operational departments to draft government grant applications.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary and interdepartmental work groups. Facilitates work group meetings in support of internal and external program planning projects.
  • Assures that program responsiveness is consistent with customer service excellence, both internally and externally through regular communication with internal and external customers and review of development data.
  • Develops project management plans, provides oversignt and monitors progress of project against timelines stated within project plan. Ensures that milestones are met and deliverables are produced on time. - Addresses and mitigates issue when project is not on track. - Communicates project status on a regular basis through reports, memos, presentations and other communications as needed.
  • Manages project-related activities that involve various analytical and business intelligence components, including developing data collection methods, defining scope, tracking implementation and monitoring progress.
  • Creates and delivers regular presentations on project status and outcomes to management. - Writes reports, memos and other communications as needed. -
  • Meets with other program and department management to ensure collaboration and effective working relationships. Manages ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Plans, facilitates, moderates and participates as a member/leader on taskforces, project teams and panels.
  • Collaborates with Finance and program staff to manage, allocate, plan, analyze and obtain approval for expenditures for programs and project budgets.
  • Provides guidance to new and less experienced staff. -
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties, as needed.QualificationsEducation: -
    • Bachelor's degree in business, health care or a related field required. -
    • Master's degree in business administration, health care administration, and public administration preferred.Experience: -
      • Minimum of five years program development experience and/or three years project management experience preferably in a health care setting or not-for-profit organization required. -
      • Strong financial analysis skills required. -
      • Consulting/team experience preferred. -
      • Strong organizational skills required. -
      • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required. -
      • Proficient in personal computer, preferably Microsoft Windows Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access required. - - -
