JOB SUMMARY
The Lending Business Analyst I works independently under limited
supervision. Provides various project, research, analytical, and
reporting support for the Lending Department team. Uses advanced
analytical methods to report financial and non-financial data in
formats for analysis by Management. Determines best practices,
evaluates business unit reporting requirements and develops
recommendations. Expert on front end origination system, Bank core
systems and Data Warehouse. Subject matter expert on FDIC call
reporting requirements as it relates to RCL- RCC and Risk Weighted
Assets (RWA).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Partners with Capital Stress Group/Office of CCO/Office of CIO,
Data Governance Department and other business units to provide data
that meet the informational needs that will achieve business
objectives for RWA and other regulatory reporting
requirements.
- Assembles, manipulates large amounts of data to facilitate
reporting requirements.
- Summarizes trends and findings in a manner appropriate to the
audience.
- Ensures and validates accuracy of data to ensure data integrity
/ reconciliations to the core systems.
- Identifies, analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in
complex data sets.
- Develops and implements data collection systems and other
strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.
- Contributes to data collection and data source analysis and
remediation of data issues for Risk Weight Assets (RWA)
calculations.
- Remains abreast of regulatory developments in credit risk
management and best practices within the industry.
- Develops, modifies, maintains and supports customize reports
for both ad-hoc and ongoing needs thru Oracle Discover, Data
Warehouse and Miser BI.
- Recommends process improvements to enhance data collection and
improve reporting.
- Assists in the publication of monthly/quarterly
reporting.
- Develops Quality Assurance Program on data integrity as it
relates to Bank Core system.
- Responsible for loan selection on participations.
- Identifies opportunities for workflow improvements and risk
reduction by analyzing and evaluating departmental procedures and
future needs. Recommends automated solutions.
- Provides system support for issues and questions for all
lending units.
- Develops and maintains subject matter expertise on lending
systems features and functions.
- Provides assistance and training to Lending Department staff
members.
- Remains current on Regulations B, C, D, O and Z. Assists with
development of procedures and practices pertinent to the lending
business.
- Reviews and analyses monthly Data Flux reports generated by the
Capital Stress Group / Data Governance. Acts as subject matter
expert and provides analytical support to management.
- Acts as a liaison between the Lending Department and Loan
Administration on data integrity. Provides analytical support in
Miser Core System for loan data accuracy and translates data
requirements to Loan Administration for system
maintenance.
- Executes data mining and interprets trends to make
recommendations to management for sound business
decisions.
- Assists with the management of lending related systems as well
as analyzing and researching vendors and products to overall
increase efficiencies within the department.

- Performs special projects, and additional duties and
responsibilities as required.
- Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of

compliance and adhere to internal control policies and
procedures.
Job Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field or
equivalent combination of training and experience in assigned
business area.
- Minimum of (5) five years of analytical support
experience.
- Experience writing report queries.
- Good understanding of data requirements for RWA in Call
Reporting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of, and the ability to apply fundamental business
analysis concepts, practices and procedures related to
lending.
- Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet,
PowerPoint, project, database reporting, e-mail applications and
business systems applications used in lending.
- Excellent knowledge of banking operations.
- Strong accounting, reconciliation, and financial analysis
skills related to lending back office and customer transaction
activity.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage lending related systems as well as analyze
and research vendors and products to overall increase efficiencies
within the department.
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing
priorities.
- Ability to gather, interpret - explain requirements,
procedures, processes, system capabilities, etc.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
