Job Title: Packaging Technician
Duration: 10+ Months
Location: Hicksville, NY

Duties
Packaging Technician. This is an onsite role for 1st SHIFT ONLY. (req. #16138844)
hours are 6:45 am - 3:30 pm and OT is mandatory every other Saturday from 2 10:30.
The Hicksville Long Island location manufactures semi-solid dermatology products and needs temporary employees for 1st shift.
Able to perform various inspecting, labeling, and packaging operations
Handling components on the packaging line and monitors for defects.
Inspects filled container or package to ensure the product is according to specifications.
Prepares shippers, and inspects finished products and packages into shippers. Seals, labels, and stacks shipper.
Fills cartons, carriers, or shippers by hand with products, labels, literature, or applicators.
Maintains compliance with SOPs, good documentation practices (GDP), training requirements, Company and safety policies, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Verifies correct lot code/exp. the date on all pkg. components/finished goods.
Contributes to the team by supporting other lines and roles as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
Performs rework/re-inspection of components/finished goods with minimal conversation and focus on product defects.
Performs various housekeeping duties such as sweeping/mopping floors, and cleaning equipment, fixtures, windows, and walls as needed.
Perform minor adjustments on the equipment and document the work performed.
There is a 45-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. There is a cafeteria on-site where you can buy breakfast and lunch made to order if you choose. If not, we have a lunchroom with refrigerators and microwaves in case you want to store your lunch and need to heat it up.
The job involves about 50/50 sitting and standing, but employees should expect to be busy all day with a variety of tasks to make the day go by quickly.

Skills:
Solid English reading/comprehension written and verbal communication skills required to understand and communicate to others
Participate in Safety Program by complying with all and preventive measures (i.e., wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Alerts Supervision, Mechanics, and Quality personnel to safety, quality, and equipment performance problems when they occur.
Perform key roles in a manner that promotes teamwork, is respectful of others, and is aligned with Sandozs behavior expectation

Education:
HS Diploma or GED or related Packaging Tech experience (not Warehouse experience)
