Having a CDL is a plus in our hiring process, but FREE CDL training is available.What We Offer: FLEXIBILITY* Split-Shift- Mornings and Afternoons!* Guaranteed 25-30 hours per week.* FREE Training to prepare for CDL Permit.* $750 bonus when you train with us and receive your CDL.* $2,500 Sign-on-Bonus for any hired fully licensed NY CDL Driver who has an A, B or C license with P & S endorsements.* Pay Rate $21.50/hour-$24.50/hour* Earned Paid time off/Holidays!* 401k with company match.* Company-paid Life Insurance.* Optional Dental & Vision insurance.Job Summary* Operate school bus to transport authorized passengers to and from school programs in a safe and timely manner following prescribed route(s).* Assess traffic and road conditions, monitor student behavior and other factors as necessary.* Follow all state and federal traffic laws while operating a vehicle. Adhere to DOT and state safety and district requirements and standards while operating yellow school bus.* Maintain proper CDL and state school bus certifications including adhering to state and federal guidelines regarding criminal, medical, drug test and driving records.* Assist passengers onto and off the vehicle when necessary.* Perform daily pre and post trip vehicle inspections and safety checks as required by company standards and state guidelines.Job Requirements* Drivers must be at least 21 with 1 year driving experience* NYS CDL Class A or B License with P & S endorsements for Bus* NYS CDL C License with P & S for vans* Must have a driver's license to enter CDL permit training (we train you for free!)* Ability to pass drug test and background checkAbout the CompanyWE Transport has been a respected Long Island school bus operator since 1959.
